Phases of Interior Design Process
Hello friends! In today’s article we will check some basic questions which we receive when our customers contact us for the first time: “How can we get a price quote from you and what do you need? ”,“ What are the steps to start working with you? ” or “How much will it cost me to hire you and create an interior project?”.
In our first conversation with you, we will need a technical drawing or a sketch so that we can see over what size of apartment or house we will work on. In this way, we will be able to see the complexity of the project. The more corners a room has, the more time it takes to develop a concept for it.
There are, of course, cases in which the building is really old, and architectural drawings are missing. This is not a problem for us! We can arrange an on-site meeting. In this way, we will be able to inspect the rooms and discuss possible reconstructions.
The second important thing is to provide us with some guidance for the design style in which you imagine your home. This will show us the detail we will go into. The classic interior design style takes up to twice as long in technical drawings as the modern interior style.
Having these two important things – drawings and some info regarding the design type of your home, we will be able to create a price offer for you. In this offer you will have described the whole documentation you will receive as a result of our work. And what exactly it contains, you can read in our article “What is an Interior Design Project”.
What happens after we start to work together? What are the different phases through which we have to go through?
Once we have signed a contract, we will go through the different design steps, starting from the floor plan and then going to the conceptual design. We will visit the place, over which we will work once again to make an architectural survey. In this way, we verify the data specified in the official architectural drawings.
Having the correct dimensions, we will discuss the main areas in order to form a floor plan in the form of 2D drawings.
Based on the approved floor plan, we will be able to create a set of sketches which will help us afterwards with the 3D visualizations and the whole conceptual design.
With approval over the basic colors, layout, and composition, we will begin to explore the area and assemble the interior design in the 3D space. The visualizations contain the furniture, flooring, decoration as well as some changed elements of the architecture – doors, walls, and windows. This way you will be able to feel the whole concept of the overall vision of each room.
The creation of 3D model takes the most time in the whole project. This is because we are recreating the entire area in 3D, modeling almost every detail – kitchen, chairs, tables, decoration, and more. Once we have a modeled the environment and installed the lights in the scene, we can now deploy virtual cameras which will capture the objects in the space and visualization begins to RENDER. In this way, the images will help you to take a glimpse into the future before the project has been implemented,
Based on the visualizations that we have created and you have approved, we will start preparing the technical documentation for the implementation of the project. Keep in mind that the visualizations we make are 100% feasible, because most of the drawings, such as for the kitchen, bathroom, and other elements, run parallel to the conceptual design.
We prepare and provide our customers with over 15 technical drawings, and this process takes between 2 and 4 weeks. For these drawings, it is important to be as detailed as possible, because from this depends the quality of the interior implementation afterward. And what is the full documentation that you will receive, you can read in ““What does an interior design?””.
When it comes to the construction phase, we can also assist you. In this way, you will be able to get an advice from people who have the necessary experience for the quality that you need. Even something more! You will be able to get guidelines for a different set of stores, where they will be able to give you a discount for a certain type of items and you will communicate with only one person for the whole project.
What exactly this includes?
We will prepare a detailed spreadsheet in which we will distribute the budget set by you – price and quantity offer for all types of activities. In this way, we will be able to combine different materials – wood, countertops, textiles, flooring, lighting fixtures, and more.
The pricing formation for the implementation of the project is specific for each client in order to achieve optimal quality for each section, depending on the budget. The bidding and review of the price quotes are done by a member of the Indorio team, who is qualified and with many years of experience in the field in order to achieve the look that we have created in the project.
With a few words, this is the process through which almost every one of our clients goes through with us in order to achieve their dream home.
